Press release

ANTWERP – December 17, 2019 – Food Logistics, the publication exclusively dedicated to covering the movement of product through the global food supply chain, has named Dockflow to its 2019 FL100+ Top Software and Technology Providers list. Six months after launching the platform, the start-up can be found amongst large corporates that have been dominating the list for the past editions.

“The transparency and safety of the digital global food supply chain would not exist without innovations in software and technology.”

– John R. Yuva, Food Logistics

“The forwarding market is a fragmented one. Market leaders capture only a relatively small market share. The rest of the market is made up of countless smaller players,” says Michiel Valee, CEO of Dockflow. Those numerous, smaller companies are the target audience for the start-up: “we see SMEs do not have access to the resources needed to support an expensive and slow implementation of traditional enterprise software. On top of that, there is a clear demand for qualitative track-and-trace solutions in the maritime perishables shipping industry”. The Dockflow platform offers forwarders and shippers a portal where customers can follow their shipments in detail. Through a ‘Software as a Service’-model the company wants to lower the threshold for small businesses.

Vital to the food industry

“Whether you’re using sensors to monitor critical temperatures for perishables or a WMS to manage inventory flows in your warehouse, software and technology are playing a vital role in the food and beverage industry,” remarks John R. Yuva, editor for Food Logistics and its sister publication, Supply & Demand Chain Executive. “The transparency and safety of the digital global food supply chain would not exist without innovations in software and technology. Our FL100+ recipients help drive supply chain compliance and regulatory changes that benefit everyone from the farmer to the food processor to the consumer.”

Companies on this year’s 2019 FL100+ Top Software and Technology Providers list will be profiled in the November/December 2019 issue of Food Logistics, as well as online at
